View Full Version : Looking for some good losers

I'm contemplating doing a series of portraits dedicated to the 'also-rans'. My original inspiration for this project was Dr. DeForest (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lee_De_Forest), until I realized, after thirteen lawsuits, he won the patent rights to the audion tube(!).

Other examples might incude Pete Best (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pete_Best) or possibly Ted Dabney (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Dabney). Essentially, I would like historical figures whose only significance was living in the shadows of legends.

The hardest part of this kind of research is finding these people as they are essentially footnotes. But I thought maybe I could tap all your brains for suggestions. Especially since many of you have specific interests which you know in-depth.

Artists, scientists, royalty, musicians, architects, adventures/explorers, inventors from any and all eras of civilization; any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If I can get ten or so solid candidates, I'll be set.

:KS :KS :KS Thanks! :KS :KS :KS

EDIT: Forget it. I've changed my mind entirely. I got a few people into this project, but started feeling bad. lol!
