This forum should have a health warning. I keep finding myself being drawn back to it to see what is going on (it now has a permanent tab open on my browser), and am wondering if anyone else feels it slowly taking up more and more of their time.

(it's all good stuff though)

I tend to have the forums open in a tab and randomly flick to them during the day...it would be scary to see the amount of time I'm actually logged in here.

*EDIT* Shouldn't this be in the cafe?

Apologies for putting the thread in the General Help area.
I tend to just surf the help sections so was living in ignorance of tha cafe (though I think this will now make my time spent in the forum even worse).
If someone knows how to move a thread then I'll gladly shift it!

I thought I was a true geek until I hit upon your post. Now I'm back where I should be... especially with my new Ubuntu menu and search engines! :D

Thanks for the great links!

at first i just read the forums, but then i realized that by browsing these pages so much i actually developed quite a neck for finding solutions for problems. so then i started posting and finding the answers in already written posts on this forum.
i give at least 3 hours daily to this forum. i hope i don't get addicted to it though :p

I spend about an hour here every couple days (and no less than 15 minutes a day) and consider that to be an addiction. :D

But I agree... at first, I spent so much time coming here asking questions (still do!), that now I hang around the beginners' forum and answer as much as I can, or at least point people in the right direction.

Linux in general, and Ubuntu in particular, has such a fantastic community - it's a great feeling to be a contributing part of it! If only I could program, I'd be able to give back far more. :)

It's one of my startup tabs for FF. I'm on here all the time pretty much but hey, I get bored and browse forums and this is the one I'm currently into. I didn't go on here for a few months when I had no problems. When I realised about a month or two ago that I am comfortable with the command line, I started coming back and answering questions. And now that I got mod'ed for the NU Ubuntu section, I check that forum a lot.

it was pretty bad until I started using the rss feed, now I just check that when a new post is opened

RSS is the way to go definitely. I tend only to open to check a post has already been answered. I only reply when no one has answered, or when something doesn't seem to have been resolved and I think I have a different angle. But then it do get itchy when I haven't checked google reader for a couple of hours...
