I'm learning OpenGL programming and I was wondering it is possible to use video stream as a texture for polygon? And if this is possible how can I implement it. I have noticed that gstreamer framework has an OpenGL output plugin, but I can't find any documentation about it. Does this plugin make it possible to display video files as textures in OpenGL?

All comments about video playing in OpenGL are more than welcome!

Maybe you should look at MacSlow's example (http://macslow.thepimp.net/?p=55) where he did something like that.

Edit: direct link to the example (http://macslow.thepimp.net/projects/gl-gst-test.c)

I think there is a NeHe tutor for texturing polygon with video stream.

Thank you all for you replies. I will look those guides, but I'm still wondering could this be done with gstreamer. That would enable easy way to support multiple codecs.

Edit: Oops, seems that macslow used it.
