I just made an all purpose linux, bsd, etc wiki and I'd like to request some basic contributions. I hope this isn't against the rules, but input would be nice.

The link is www.wikinix.net.

Thank you.

I in no way am knocking your efforts, just I would suggest you specialise in several small areas as I've found finding information hard as you find snippets in various docs and wiki's and then only by googling. Also could you link to articles so the maintainer only has one to keep upto date:mrgreen:

Thanks, and that's exactly what I'm doing. I already have people building articles around basic information and snippets like you said. Eventually everything will be easily linked and searchable in the database.

One suggestion, you should get rid of those empty spaces before the code snippets, like in this (http://www.wikinix.net/index.php?title=Command_line) page, for example. It makes it painful to copy and paste.

I'll get right to it. Thank you. Feel free to contribute as well.

I've been involved with this (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Device/Broadcom_BCM4311_rev_01_%28ndiswrapper%29?action=s how) wiki and I use it to help people with broadcom ndiswrapper-maybe you would like to link to it?

I think I might. We've grown a little since I last posted, I hope we're credible enough to receive at least some contributions.

one question that springs to mind has the site been listed with dmos.org and also which search engines? Also cross linking with other sites will drive up your search engine rating with google-maybe you could offer third party projects a documentation home on your site.

?how have you planned for bandwidth costs if you get lots oftraffic
Lastly I've linked to the ubuntu page mentioned previously

Biggest problem with wikis is it is nearly impossible to navigate through them.

I realize the fact that it is sometimes difficult to navigate through wikis but I'm trying my best to have a good structure which is easily accessible by anyone.

To the person above, thank you for contributing and also. I've already added my website to the index of Google but I will use dmos.org as well. My bandwidth is two terabytes currently and increases by 16 gigs weekly. And if I ever have this reached I can add a donation page.
