I host a small project on source forge called The Doobs (http://sourceforge.net/projects/doobs), it's basically Populous II with an economy. The basic classes that define the game environment are written, and I now want to start writing the game itself (moving from "planning" to "pre-alpha").
However, I need help! As a noob I'm overly reliant on KDevelop, my code compiles fine in the IDE, but I can't get it to compile on the command line (some kind of linking problem with OpenGL).
I'm looking for someone to help with packaging (even if it's just source tarballs!), so I can get my project to a state where testers and other devs might be interested in joining. More work needs to be done before then, and what I have needs to be working straight from a download.
The source forge "job" description:
Category: Packager (.rpm, .deb etc)
Short Desc: Need someone to create source and binary packages
Long Desc: I'm using KDevelop. I'm a programming noob. I've overcome quite a few obstacles in realising my dream of releasing "The Doobs" to the world (please see project description), however packaging is currently beyond me.
I can't even produce a source tarball that compiles (though the project compiles and runs fine in KDevelop). I need someone who knows enough about either KDevelop/make/automake to make working source tarballs of my project.
Nice, but by no means necessary, would be if you can make .deb and maybe even .rpm binary packages also.
