Hey, I make electronic music. Have been using ******* xp and REASON for a couple years. AM SICK of it. windows, that is.

so anyway, i am jumping into ubuntu and linux in general to do my audio (and everything else).

I get the feeling that PRO audio isn't working as well in ubuntu as, say, CCRMA or demudi.

I just want to say that I like the community here, and I do hope that PRO audio gets to be an easy thing to work with in the future. And thanks in advance to anyone who helps to make it so.

Like, one big package I could get with synaptic ;) (including the realtime module)
One big package that would put pretty icons in a window/menu, and pretty much take care of everything.

And I'd like Ubuntu to create world peace too. :)

I would get a big wet spot in my pants if someone put together a audio centric distro. :) Like a sleak distro built for Ardour. Man. What would it take? I would love to get together/be on a team to do this. Ive missed Pro-Tools but its just too damn expensive.

Have you guys seen the new Ardour screenshot?

MMM-- an audio-centric distro DOES exist. DeMuDi and ReMuDi. Debian and RedHat music distributions.

I'm also in planning phase of one that centers around music, graphic design, video editing, and web design. See the link posted above :)
