To whom it may concern;

Recently as some may be aware, TUX magazine folded. Although I would not consider myself a linux novice, I found that it was a very good read. The layout was exceptional, the articles were fairly insightful, etc etc. There was a readership of at least 100,000 (taken from their site). I think a magazine laid out and delivered, as TUX was, but specific to Ubuntu would be a great add to a wonderful community. It would give us yet another way to intro non-linux users to linux, its awesome apps and Ubuntu in particular. Just a thought.

Try Linux Format. It costs a pretty penny, but I think it is worth it.

I agree with the last poster, Linux Format is an excellent magazine, and though it is not cheap, it is still good value, particularly if like me you have a separate hard disk to try out all manner of distros that appear on its DVD every month. Don't worry, I've yet to come across one which is as good as (K)Ubuntu, not just the distro itself, but this awesome forum, which beats anything I've ever posted to in the past.

I haven't heard of either one before TUX folded. How good is their marketing (or am I living in a hole-in-the-wall)](*,) ?

I've not seen any marketing for Linux or Linux magazines. I went to my local IT store and picked up 4 magazines and Linux Format was the only one I really liked. It made sence and talked about the things I care about. What more can you ask for? Except maybe not to pay $15.99 USD? But I do, as it is worth it.
