First time here and looked for the best category to post this under so I decided here.
Running Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy.

Is anyone connecting to ICQ?
I've tried both Licq and Gaim.
Both clients say my UIN/password are incorrect, but they are not.
Logs in fine under (gulp) WinXP.

Any help on how I can can connect to ICQ would be appreciated.

Ubuntu rocks by the way ..

Are you sure CAPS LOCK is off? :) And numbers are ON?

Yes, I'm sure.
Are you connecting to ICQ?

I have seen Gaim saying "invalid password" when the problem was something else. So perhaps you should check other potential issues. Is the port accessible? (are you running a firewall? behind a router?) Do other instant messaging protocols work, just not ICQ?

There are many IM programs for Ubuntu, which can use the ICQ protocol, including Gaim and Kopete.

I have IQC working on my machine through Gaim right now.

Yeah, I currently have no problems with ICQ on Gaim.

I would say try using another IM application (Kopete) and try it on there.

Well I kept on entering my screen name as Gaim asked for but now I realize it wanted my actual numbered ID, doh.
I thought for sure I had tried this before.. ..

So to give something back in return I have a little eye/brain teaser for you all.
When you click on the link at the end of this post, a web page will come up with two seemingly the same photos on it. But there IS a difference between the two photos, and you only have a short amount of time to find out what it is it before it automatically gives you the answer.
I always liked these when I was a kid.
So DON'T CLICK ON THE LINK YET until you are ready.
A few hints before you start:
1. Turn your volume up a bit, as there is an audio clue in the background while you are trying to find the difference.
2. Get ready to sit close to the screen, as the photos are not very big.

At the risk of ruining this, I feel I have to warn people - if you have heart problems, a sensitive temperament, or are pregnant, do NOT click the above link.
