This question is important because my old pc has a slow, very slow cd drive,so it begins to load the live cd for hours,

How should I install xubuntu for example not by live cd mode?

i'm not sure about xubuntu, but i know with ubuntu you can download an "alternate install cd". i'm sure xubuntu will have one as well. the alternate install cd is what you are looking for.

Use the Alternative Installation CD, IMO it would be much better if both installation methods were included on one CD.
But nevermind, its Christmas :)

I usually install my PC's like this :
from Alternative Installation as text
and I choose SERVER
then, install all packages manually ... (script)

Can be useful for slow pc
For slow PC, I would recommand you openbox
forget xfce it is too much for lower than 64 MB ram
