if you haven't heard, you can now download a free trial of the wii internet browser (opera) and surf the web with your wii!

go to the wii shop channel then once your in, click wii ware, and select internet browser if you dont d/l it before sjme date, it will cost 500 wii points

one, the wii just came out so i doubt that wii linux is "bug free" yet

second, it would most likely void my warranty, and if something goes wrong, then im out of luck. i cant just reinstall the wii software like you can with windows / linux on a computer...

Wii doesn't need Linux. It's already amazing. The OS it uses might just be some unknown flavor of Unix, but who knows. It's closed.

If only my job would get consistant. I have more then enough money for a Wii, but I don't like to spend. I'm very cheap.

Theoretically ... and practically gaming consoles are true computers (CPU+memory+I/O). Linux is very versatile and supports such a wide variety or architectures that it would not suprise me to find it in a Wii
