I am looking to buy either a USB adaptor for a Super Nintendo controller, or possibly just a PC controller that is very similar to the Super Nintendo controller. Does anybody have any recommendations? I don't want to blindly buy something, then be plagued by driver issues and whatnot.

While it's not in the same design as the SNES gamepad, my Saitek P880 (http://www.saitekusa.com/usa/prod/p880.htm) works like a charm in Ubuntu. This post,
HOWTO: Get USB Gamepads to Work in Hoary (http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=28538&highlight=gamepad), was all I needed to get up and running.

Works great with ZSNES, FCEU (once the program is configured at least), and everything else I've played with so far.

Otherwise I advise a USB adaptor for the dualshock. I have one and it works great....
