View Full Version : Procedure Followed with Reported Post

December 20th, 2006, 11:52 PM
Yesterday I reported the following post for possible violation of forum rules:

Forum: General Help

Thread Title: OpenOffice.org -- upgrade to 2.1 -- when?

Post No.: 8

Post Author: hikaricore

I was curious how long it normally takes for the moderators to review a reported post and whether I will be informed what action, if any, is being taken.

As an aside, I read through the "Forum Policies and Expectations" and the Ubuntu "Code of Conduct" but couldn't find anything that answered my question.

Hey there,

I remember this report and looked into it myself. However, I didn't see anything in violation of any of the guidelines for this site.

If you would like to clarify your problem with the post in question I would be more than happy to take a second look for you.

To answer your question, during busy times, i.e. around 12am-12pm UTC I would say that there is constantly at least half a dozen staff members online. I cannot say for definate & may be very wrong, but at a guess, I would say that most reported posts in this timeframe are checked out within 30 minutes by a couple of the team. (although this cannot be guaranteed)

Currently we do not automatically respond to those who report posts, although please be assured that we are very grateful for your efforts to assist us in keeping this forum a clean place for support.

If you have any further questions then please don't hesitate to ask.

I found hikaricore's posting to be rude and insulting. However, you are clearly unbiased and found otherwise, and I will certainly live with that.

Thank you for the information as to the procedure followed in reviewing reported posts. I have never before had an occasion to report a post (and hopefully won't again), but it's good to know how things work should the need arise.

Thanks again,
