not a site, but the paper book on design patterns from "Head First" series is really good - even compared with other good books from O'Reilly. Highly recommended.

That's exactly the one i'm looking for :) College books are way too expensive though

here (http://www.dofactory.com/Patterns/Patterns.aspx) is a site with some of the basic ones its for .NET but should be easily understandable.
more (http://freecomputerbooks.com/specialDesignPatternBooksIndex.html) free eBooks don't know if any of them are any good though.
