I don't know about you all, but don't think I like the look of Edgy. I have Dapper currently installed and I've just downloaded and burned the Edgy ISO and just thought it was "Eh...". Is it just me?

It's kind of business boring, yeah. I like the fact they have sort of a "packaged" look and something that doesn't look like a kid build it with aqua tinker toys, cough...KDE...cough..

I never let the initial appearance of any OS bother me, as I quickly customize it to my liking. I tried out and eventually installed the Sabayon distro and almost threw up in my own lap when the screen booted up in an all red theme. Man, that still gives me nightmares when I think about it. ;)

^^ Haha so true! :D

And I like Edgy's look, but have perfected it myself. (See this (http://www.mbhoy.com/07-11-2006/current-desktop))

Pink, how do you get the transparent look in the terminal? That was cool.

EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out.

Ok, I really like the first screenshot (nice desktop!!) but you get -5 points for using a Windows XP wallpaper. However, you redeemed yourself with the second entry, pink floyd.

Haha and you lose 10 points for not knowing that that first wallpaper is actually from Kubuntu Dapper, not XP!

Good to see another Pink Floyd fan, though. :)

I didn't like the look of edgy, nor dapper.

I use the default theme from Breezy. It's the last one I liked, and it seems to be faster on my machine :/

I actually liked the way Dapper looked. I just don't know about Edgy.

I think brown is a nice color. Just take a look on this forum. But IMHO, the artwork team of ubuntu is not doing a great job..

I think the artwork team did a great job, before the intended art got pulled from the final release.

I don't like the look of Edgy either. It's too... I dunno... curvy and rounded.

What I hate more is the sound it makes when you login - the African drumming one. I much prefer the look and sound of Dapper.

the dif between dapper and egdy isn't THAT big. In fact it's pretty small.

I get tired of the orange though

using T-ish graphite with Aero Icons now...

I agree with Saxsux 107.3% (that's a lot).

well, cut them a lot of slack, they can't at all do what they want, which is why I left after dapper. If I can't do what I'm good at, which is the reason I was asked to participate to begin with, then why am I there? Silly and a big waste of time.

I reinstalled Dapper after trying edgy for a few days (I think I could get edgy working now that I have thought about it, but it would be too much work).

The only thing I really miss is (not upstart) The Start Sound. That thing makes me dance all day. 8)
