Just seeing a documentary about the Eiffel Tower, i was wondering if the Tower is something like GPL-licensed :-k

What i saw about it, is that Gustave Eiffel's plans etc. were made available for people to view.
People are allowed to use that info, and make their own "Eiffel Tower".

Did you guys know about that?

That is very interesting! The GPL wasn't even invented yet, but the spirit was there. It's good to know that the idea of freedom of ideas isn't just a fad.

I was thinking of that aswell..

It's great to see that a monument like that is under some sort of GPL-license (i know there wasn't any license then, but the idea).

How do you think the Americans make all their big blockbuster movies where aliens destroy the statue of liberty? computer animation? hah! they get a french statue and blow it to smithereens with Hollywood ray beams. I think it's the duty of all americans to make it unique.
