I just installed Dapper on a newish Dell laptop, and just realized after the fact that networking setup was nonexistant...the network connection just worked! Compare that to the first time I used Ubuntu, probably around July 2005...I remember that trying to get my ethernet card to work was a bear. That could have been because I was using older hardware back then, but I am assuming it mostly has to do with the development work on Ubuntu. Excellent work to all involved!
