The Ubuntu Community council today approved the Forums Governance document, which has been produced with extensive guidance from Ryan Troy, Jono Bacon and members of the Community Council and Forums Community. As part of that, we now have a Forums Council consisting of Ryan Troy, Mike Braniff and John Dong.

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ForumsGovernance

We (the CC) will appoint a further two members of the Forums Council, and Matthew Helmke (matthew) has been suggested as a good candidate, with support from some forums admins and staff. This thread is open for discussion on matthew's candidacy for the Forums Council.

Thank you!
Mark

Matthew is, I believe, the single most efficient and correct staffer on this forum. I judge mainly by his summing-up post and blurbs, and also some administative actions.

Another vote. Matthew is one of the first people I recall giving me guidance when I started out here. It's hard to say where I would be standing (or what OS I would be using) had it not been for his help at the outset. +1 and thanks. :D

i'm not really too sure what all this nomination business is all about, but i think matthew is a good moderator. i also think his opinion is quite balanced and his judgement fair.
therefore, a vote for matthew from me.
