How to make a persistent /home folder with DSL?

I have my DSL in a 256mb pen, and i want the home folder to be persistent, but inside the pen. It's very handy for college works. There is a how to in the wiki but i don't think that is what i want, because i mostly use qemu to boot DSL. Any ideas?
