I killed my 2kpro install that came on my laptop(no cd) last night. I have a legit copy of 98se. How do I install it on a small partition without formatting my edgy install?

Download GParted (http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php) and make a FAT32 partition. After installing 98, you will have to recover GRUB (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RecoveringUbuntuAfterInstallingWindows).

If your laptop is not too old and has decent memory, you could always try running your Windows 98 in vmware player.
