View Full Version : Has anyone tried Bootcd before?

Its in the repositories, just search for 'bootcd'. It says you can copy your system onto cd and run it as a live cd. The option to install your system from this cd is also included.

I think this would be fantastic, much better then something like reconstructor. This would let a person do a server install of Ubuntu (or another debian based system), install and customise what they like, then burn this into a live cd.

From then on they can just use this new cd as a backup or their own distribution for other computers.


Well at least thats what Im thinking it can do, but maybe Im wrong, which is why Im asking. So the question remains, has anyone tried bootcd before?

anyone? Id try it myself but i have a nice set up right now and dont want to stuff it up.

I found this while searching for threads about this. I installed it via apt, but I get errors when I run it. Looks cool though.

My system is 14GB and that is the smallest system i have on any computer, it'd require several DVD's to use as a live cd, i prefer mondo to just back it up as is to a few CD's. (i've been using mondo for several years, it hasn't failed me yet).
