I found this on Gnome Files today.

"One of the most promising GTK+ applications, the home video editor Diva (http://www.gnomefiles.org/app.php/Diva) with the amazing usability, is now a dead project. If you are a GTK# and C developer, please consider taking over the project. Apply here (http://jobs.osnews.com/view/3/78837)."

Thats too bad. This looked like a great project.

nooooooooooo...

this looked like a great project, and I was planning on using it once it would compile against an unpatched gstreamer.

this is too bad...

Yeah that's sad news. I did notice the Diva project some time ago and looked forward to trying it out if I ever got into video editing.

Read the authors website, he has a story about diva on the front page, according to him the project is not dead but he would like some HELP. http://www.mdk.org.pl/ (http://www.mdk.org.pl/)

well, this is good news. diva was way too promising a project to just let die.

I'm kind suprised novell hasn't offered to help him out, and/or take over the project should he decide to really abandon it. As Novell seems to be progressing towards a largely C#/GTK+ environment for their distribution, Diva seems like it would be right up their alley.

The worst thing is, that the website now got hacked...

If there would be at lest a note "we need help" that would be good.

I'm really sad now.

That would have been some great piece of software.

How are things going there? I can't believe the community would just let the Diva project vanish... (I know we have jahshaka but that's not really an option, is it?)

Wouldn't this program have fit perfectly inside ubuntustudio?

It's a pity that there is actually no maintainer :(

Maybe a case for:

It would have been nice for Ubuntu Studio (http://ubuntustudio.org/). We planed on using it. Its just the way things work out sometimes.

Last I heard someone was picking it up. I cant find any info ATM.
