Ubuntu User Bar?

I'm sure I've seen a thread a while ago offering Ubuntu user bars but SEARCH isn't finding it.

Has anyone got the link or some user bars?

Do you mean like the user bar in enlightenment? Engage or whatever it's called? I haven't seen anything like that for GNOME, but if anyone does see one then please do post? I can't afford to use a pre-alpha release DE at work, but if there's a stable users bar, I'd be all over that.
