Lost Sound in Windows 98, First Edition

This is a work computer, so I'm not going to upgrade it at all.

When i try and stream music now, I get a message saying that another program is running. This is not the case. What can I do to get my sound back?

Edit: Never mind, the problem computer probably isn't on this mortal coil anymore. ;)

Necromancing. I no longer have that computer. I was given another one with XP since that post, but still use the floppy twice a year. Sigh. Some things never change.
