Are there any apps you think are better than the defaults as supplied by a standard ubuntu install?

For me I belive the shell itself whould be best if fish was the default.

The object of it is friendliness and ease of learing. it uses colour much beter than bash and has tab completetion for everything, and a summary of what each app does which makes things a lot easier.

But what about you lot?

Fish is more of a 'learning' shell, to teach you the basics of the command line. For everyday use, Bash is a perfect solution: it's fast, simple and user friendly for the user who knows what she's doing.
