AAAAGH....yet again the UK's propaganda machine spews forth free Advertising for Vista,and oddly,just after signing a multi-million £££ deal with MS is full of Apple security woes...no links to MS ones of course and no mention of Apple's OS X leopard either surprisingly.
MS features on the technology page every day,yet no mention of Apple except to mention security invulnerability's only replicated in the lab with no users affected.
West Yorkshire Police run all their desktops on Linux...mentioned...hell no,French parliment adopt Linux because of security and cost savings..nada.
Christian aid sign a deal with MS then get a whole show to talk about how much more expensive Linux is and how open source equals insecure!!!!!
The view aired,and not questioned was that open source means "everyone can poke about in it and see what you're doing"???!!!](*,)
Also as "Christian aid sends money across the world we cant have Linux as it's not secure"
They then go on to shamelessly advertise MS apps.
The BBC impartial....yeah whatever..and I have to pay tax to support this kind of FUD.

In fairness to Auntie Beeb: they are simply covering the majority OS. It's frankly not a good use of their resources to cover an OS that has anywhere between 1 and 5 % of total desktop users in any real depth.

True, but the problem here is that the BBC is funded by the public. The end result of all this exposure Microsoft gets by the BBC is a pretty effective form of free advertising. I'm not sure how much of the funds the BBC receives goes into it's website, but it should still be trying to provide a balanced look at things. It loves to harp on about security and whatnot, but it's usually from a Microsoft viewpoint. It makes no effort to explain the benefits of a non-Windows OS in terms of security etc, and this just keeps the public in a costant state of ignorance.

i think the original poster is saying that the BBC let money speak before impartiality and objectivity. they hold themself as an impartial service. a lot of people here can't stand the BBC for a number of reasons.

But most of its coverage seems to be delays, viruses and security holes...


Infact if you watch their dramas the good guys always seem to have a Apple laptop of some description...
