please help me. i used my pc yesterday and shut down properly. Just wanted to use the pc now and it tells me windows didn't start properly gives me options i tried them but restarts once the windows logo comes up and start loading plz help me i have and exam this coming thursday on vb 6 and i need windows. could it be a virus? it won't even allow me to go to safe mode it keeps restarting.

Do you the Windows CD? Try runing it in rescue mode. or

thanks i'll try using the windows cd. even while i wap trying to back up my data on the linux my linux hard disk failed cuts its back its barely 8months old

The problem could be anything of course but I suspect it's a flakey power supply. Is the PSU a name-brand unit or generic?
IS the HDD 8 months old or the whole PC?

the pc is 2years old but the hard disk is 8months i guess it should be power failure. thanks
