jedit really bogging things down

Hey there all,
i have started using the latest jedit. I am using the 4.3 pre.
i am also running on the sun java 1.5, not the ubuntu one.
i have 500 RAM and 2.8 Ghz sempron. Jedit is running about 30 % on the cpu
monitor of gkrellm.
Any reason something like this is so resource intensive ? i think even eclipse is easier on my system.

anyone run into this before ?

Jedit has performance issues if you're using certain plugins. Try cleaning out the plugins you don't use. I think the jedit documentation says something about having more than 7 or 8 plugins will cause serious slow down.

ok, i removed all the plugins, still have the performance issue, may just be something to do with it being 4.3 pre.
who knows, i will keep checking in, i still like it more than eclipse
