View Full Version : Possible Improvement on Firefox Password Manager ?

November 26th, 2006, 08:28 AM
I don't know should i post it here.
but i think most of the ubuntu users use Firefox, right?
Recently i discovered that i am able to see what password i typed in Password Manager.
It is very dangerous if the user forget to lock the desktop, both in linux/windows
i knowed that i can always set a master password to protect those website session password.
However, it is quite annoying that i need to press the master password everytime if i need to use the "password remembering" function.
Would it be nicer if we could just hide the password in the password manager. As user is supposed to remember his/her own password

Hope everyone understand my view.
any comment is okay :)

Have you tried Opera or konqueror yet? I think that Opera has the best password management system of the browsers Ive tried.

I used Opera 5 before.
Don't know how is opera now.
However, i am used to Firefox already, so just want to stick with it.
konqueror, it is great, but i am inside gnome. So,i try to avoid it ~~

I just want to know why users are able to see their passwords by default.
very bad securities ...
