Hello. Yesterday I heard one of the linuxactionshow podcasts and I remember one of the two said, just shortly, something about a distribution aiming to look as much as apple os x as possible. Can anyone give me the name of this distribution? I think it was episode 20 in which it was mentioned.

GoboLinux has a "virtual" file system layout similar to that of OSX, using symbolic links to create fake names for the major file system folders for easier navigation. It also has some funny source packages which compile automatically when they're put in the program directory (like how OSX applications install by drag'n'dropping them into the Applications folder):

OSX-like program installation with a twist of package repositories can be obtained by using Klik. Klik circumvents your package manager and file system completely and gives you a single file you just double-click to run or throw in the trash to uninstall:

I think you mean this stuff:
Burn effects (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7gWHdKD1VE&mode=related&search=)
3D Screen (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6313613059572588466&q=touch+linux)
Novell XGL Presentation (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1n-6oEcAZ80)

I think linux puts Mac and Vista to shame in this department.

Oh.. I'm sorry but. No this is not what I meant. But thanks for trying to help me. Did I sound negative? I sure hope not, because I do appreciate you tried.

Did you see my post? I'm pretty sure they were talking about GoboLinux at some point in ep. 20.

Yep I saw your post. I was just imagining it would look more like os x, instead of just changing the file structure. It seems to me an easier way for newbies. But what should I know. I just scanned my eye through the wikipedia article. I think Ill just have a go and visit there homepage. Thanks for your kindness :)

Shows how you can mod Ubuntu to appear pretty close to OS X
