Was just thinking...When I moved from Win98 to WinXP, XP had a function (albeit not critical) that allowed you to import settings, favourites, emails and other files from your old computer to the new one, assuming you had a relevant storage device.
Now, I personally have no need for that, most people can back up files to move over, or like me, simply dual boot, so, if not thought gimmicky by others it might be interesting if a similar thing can be done from Windows to Ubuntu; so you immediately populate your environment with familiar things. The option could appear before the warning of formatting of a hard drive? Or could be done when you pop the CD into Windows, like how you get the open source program menus.

Just a thought. I know people that would acknowledge the extra hand holding.

I know Linux isn't Windows, but it's a good measure. I think.
