hi everyone.
i am not here to say anything negative,
just wanted to propose a more powerful slogan:

"Ubuntu. Your life. Your choice."

the message behind this is (for those who cannot follow me)
that it is UP TO EVERYONE to make a better world.
If I do not switch (just because my phone cannot control the presentation - or from some similar reason anybody can come up with), others will also not.

it is our decision to see what is more important for us:
the phone-controlled presentation or the whole SW world in 10 years.
thnx for reading!
you choose!

That sounds a too "Apple".

It should be something tribal...I'll leave that to the marketing ppl here.

I'm not sure if this thread should stay here or somewhere else, but i'm always interested in "catchy" phrases for whatever i use or know.
"Free software for free people"
"Open source opens minds"
"Enjoy the Ubuntu hug"
"Ubuntu: the freedom to chose freedom"
why am i still here doing this filthy job?! i should sell my ideas!!
reading 'em better ... mmh ... i shouldn't ... i suck ... eheh ...
better go back to work

"That sounds a too "Apple"."

yepp. and what sounds not 'too apple'?
instead of saying 'this is baaad' why do not people
make notes like 'i think this sounds better: xxx'?
why?
if you hear 'hybrid car' do you say 'it sounds TOOOOO M$'?!?!?
just because it is almost like 'personal computer'?!?!?
if you hear the words 'haus','door', 'bread'...
do they sound like .....

ok.
savohead is right: 'better go back to work'

I know one thing for sure: "Linux for human beings" is sure to alienate any extraterrestrial possible users... Maybe we should take a hint from the Firefox folks (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=347226) and improve our brand presence...

Firefox is lacking brand presence from high altitudes, making it difficult to
gain traction with observers in passing spacecraft and hyper-intelligent
space-faring races. It is well established that crop circles are used as a
cost-effective channel for communicating to these audiences, and the Firefox
logo -- being a circle -- seems to be a natural fit for this form of
high-bandwidth consumer messaging.

How about: Ubuntu Linux: To use your computer the way no computer has been used before...

This is probably a good sign that I need to watch less Star Trek. :-D

I've seen the "Firefox crop circle" photos before, but hadn't realized there was a Mozilla bug report associated - cool. :)

The Ubuntu logo would work as a crop circle too... hint hint!

As for the slogan, I like "Linux for Human Beings" personally. Plus, it's easy to poke fun at (see attachment!). :D

Hehe... nice one. :) How do you pronounce that?

based on the prev. proposal...
i know it MUST be short, so made it shorter:
"ubuntu. (use) your computer as NEVER before."

.. but keeping the context - what about this one:

"ubuntu: the software for your hardware"

sounds too allpe?!?
come on! there is no "i" in it ;)
cheers!
