Oh boy, I'm still using a cheap 60 dollar flat screen 17 inch CRT and it's just way too blurry compared to LCD. I was browsing walmart and found a 17 incher for around 200 dollars. Know any cheaper then that?

For the past few months, Hanns-G has had various 19" 8ms LCDs for around $100-$110 after $100 rebate.

I got one for $104 after rebate from OfficeDepot.Com a few weeks back, and Woot.Com had one for $109 after rebate yesterday.

Rebate takes about 10-12 weeks to get, according to other buyers I've read. Mine's been "accepted" and awaiting payment.

These are perfectly OK monitors, but like all LCDs, they require configuration at native resolution for good visual clarity. I find that 1280x1024 is too big for efficient browsing, but that's life. :-|

The Viewsonic above is a better buy, it's cheaper after the rebate, it's Widescreen, MUCH faster response time, 5ms as opposed to 10/15ms, better contrast and the list goes on.

One possible downside of the Viesonic is no digital input. The Hans-G also looks good but no rebate there.

Don't take this the wrong way but you would be a fool to buy the IC Power over the Viewsonic.

I saw the Office Depot store flyer this morning and they had the 17" Hanns-G for $89 after rebate.

This isn't as smokin' a deal as the 19"s for $104-$110, but it's probably available locally for you.
