Microsoft is working on a new shell, and guess what it's command-line like bash and can be used for scripting too not unlike DOS .bat files and sh scripts.

And most people say CLI is so 1980s.

It's an old story that Microsoft is working on an enhanced shell.

They have to promote their operating systems too to power users and administrators so they have to offer a decent CLI.

About time. I'd prefer to just see BASH-like shell in Windows by default. Of course, it can't be 100% the same because it's not a *nix system, but can be close enough. Of course, nonfree versions of the coreutils would have to beincluded.

No doubt the shell will be free, to satisfy the Open source crowd, but will only operate with a single font, for which you will need to purchase a license!
