Hello,

You can run Ubuntu on a Mac computer, but unfortunately I don't believe there are any software that will allow you to emulate OS X within Linux/Ubuntu like wine allows Windows programs to run on Linux.

Are you sure he dont mean virualisation?

There is a way I think, but I dont know what it is.

You need a special patched version of OSX, I think there's a special vm image or something like that floating around.

You could try to use virtualisation. There is Xen that you can install. Try to read existing documentation and tutorials.
However, I am unsure if you can "emulate" a PowerPC based Mac with Xen, but you should be able to "emulate" a MacIntel one.

(This gets me to wondering, despite the efforts of corporate greed (ie Microsoft, and even Apple), I wonder if the future of computing isn't toward one day having a super OS that runs everything. Personally I find that idea sad...I'd miss having my rich toys of OS selections. They all have their charm and personalities. But that's my age showing. Quantum computing has been demonstrated as a POC, and if it ever gets perfected there'll be ample horsepower to run an Uber OS that's a Windows, Linux, BSD, Google--and whatever new things that'll be invented--all rolled into one. And I guess that's pretty exciting, too.)

mac-on-linux works fine, I've run it on this computer. Graphics and sound aren't great (sound is a bit distorted sometimes, and opengl stuff doesn't work well), but other things work fine. I can browse the web, and starcraft worked. I don't use it for anything anymore and haven't tried it on edgy.

The downside is that mac-on-linux isn't maintained much (anything?) anymore. So it can be hard to get it to work, since you have to compile some kernel module for it. Look around what's in the repositories.

Go to the bible that is the Offical Ubuntu book it in there on how to user other OS on top of Ubuntu.

As we know OS is slang! :) The correct term is General User Interface
