Unless Ubuntu starts including Java apps by default, that would be pointless.
But it would probably be moved to Universe or maybe even Main.

I think an interesting possibility is that some gnome apps are written in java with gnome bindings and included a main gnome release, like tomboy and f-spot are written in mono c# and included in the main gnome release 2.16.

Open Office needs java, thats the whole reason they have free java installed.

I think it should be included. It would benifit both Ubuntu and Java.

I think they should put java in instead of the free java, this allows us to go to java websites and it makes OpenOffice faster from what I have heard. It's fantastic news, let's hope Fiesty can reap the rewards!

They're both free now. One is Sun's Java. The other is GNU's Java.
