I'm hoping to get some advice about which is better to learn (nay, master really ;) ) database administration on - MySQL or PostgreSQL?

I already now MySQL pretty well I'm looking to diving deep into either one of these soon; any reccomendations on which I should learn?

I ask in part b/c I've heard that PostqreSQL has more relational features than MySQL (which may imply that concepts learned on PostgreSQL are more universal) but I was hoping to get advice from people who know more about the subject than me.

regards

MySQL is better for learning. It's easier to setup and maintain. PostGRESQL is great too, but who will spend most of your time banging your head against the wall.

Install an open-source CMS based on PHP/MySQL to get the ball rolling. After that you will understand which is better.
