ipaq opie to gpe error anyone doing the familiar project?

i am trying to switch my linux on my paq from opie to gpe but when i go to upload the new gpe firmware it give me a receive buffer error saying the buffer is to small for the file... i dont know what to do cause i dont wanna make it a brick..... does anyone have experience on this stuff? i just dont wanna have a brick in hand.

Have you checked which modem protocol you are using? I was using Xmodem and I got the same kind of error but once i switched to Ymodem it worked like a charm.

I have familiar V 0.8.4 with opie 1.2 running on a iPaq H3800
