As you all know it has been a while since the release of “0.96 Release Candidate 1”, but what is a Release Candidate without a real release? It is like going to school for 20 years of your life and then when you finally earned your diploma you don’t cash in by going to work (yes bad example, nobody likes to work, but everybody will like aMSN 0.96). So here I am, proud to be able to tell you that the release is very near.

Looking forward to finally seeing the new release!

Yay! Has ANYONE got file sending working in aMSN in Edgy? It's not my router, I've tried it on loads of connections.

No, I too have trouble file sending, hopefully that will be fixed though, right?

And maybe fonts that render nicer? All the workarounds for nicer fonts make aMSN really unstable, hopefully it'll actually be included in this release?

0.95 is still in the repositories, will they get updated to the newer 0.96? :)

AFAIK, the font rendering issue is because of TCL/TK and not aMSN. We'll just have to wait for TCL/TK to be made prettier first. I hope the bug with crashing and having to be reinstalled if you've got it set to "sign in automatically" without a profile is fixed. Minor annoyance, though, really.

TCL/TK is pretty, but unstable. The stable release is ugly. It sucks. :(

I'm looking forward to this in Feisty.

Why in feisty?

Why not upgrade now?

He could be referring to the possibility that 0.96 might only be put in the repositries when Feisty comes out.

To the aMSN project dudes: use GTK2 already.

They seams to have a plan to kick out tcl/tk :

And it will also use the telephaty framework.
