Hi,

In case you don't know, I am the founder of the Ubuntu Backports project. For the past two years or so, I've been almost single-handedly processing the thousands of backports requests. Recently, though, I've been getting very swamped with all kinds of work, and as a result there is some Backports backlog. Also, it's not a very sustainable policy to have just one person doing most of the work, as I do make mistakes, and if I don't show up for a few days the Backports project suffers.

As a result, I've been spending the past month or so making the Prevu tool that simplifies the process of building Backports to just issuing one command, so that anyone can do it!

Now, I've formed the Backports Testing Team (https://launchpad.net/people/ubuntu-backports-testers) in hopes of organizing a group of testers for Backports.

If you have some free time and aren't afraid to build and beta test some Backports packages, your help is greatly appreciated!

Sound interesting? You can go on to read more details at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=1720696#post1720696
