What are some reccomended certifications for Linux ??

While I know that the A+ certification for windows is a bit of a joke ... having it will get you in the door for an interview or at least meet a qualification

whats the picture for linux training

There are the RedHat Certifications, I don't know how valuable they are though.

LPI is very well respected but not that in demand yet

RHCE / RHCT from Red Hat are well regarded, since they require a hand-on lab. RHCE is expert level, and is not even in the same league as A+... A+ is extremely simplistic.

You also have CompTIA Linux+, but it's not well known yet.
