Let me know if you see any errors that need correcting.

DVD case label: http://divajutta.com/doctormo/eec.svg

Printable CD label: http://divajutta.com/doctormo/eecd.svg

I recomend converting to pdf before printing (or perhaps I should do that)

Ah, it uses a multi layered text extention created by inkscape... not in the svg 1.1 spec (although probably in the 1.2 spec released just after duke nukem forever)

so erm, yea won't work in any 1.1 viewer... sorry.

i think the same thing is happening, only this time i can see the text but the "L"'s in the pdf document appear to be bolded and look generally all weird =/

maybe just try exporting it as a png for people who dont have inkscape?

IMO it should have some reference to the version, ubuntu 6.10, what do you think?

The Ubuntu title font has rubbish numbers though.

should you really say: "completely safe from viruses, spyware, etc"

because while being mostly true, it is not entirely true. i mean, the chances are extremely low that someone would hack into your Ubuntu system, though it is not impossible. i know that saying that to a new user really appeals to them (especially coming from a windows background), but should we be lying to these new users right off the bat?

It's marketing. after they start using linux, we make it clear to them that as long as they don't do anything stupid, they'll be fine. Ubuntu ships with no ports open, iptables already configured. Known viruses are already well guarded against. pretty much the only way is getting hacked manually, and most people don't have anything on their computer important enough to warrant that. It's one of the strongest things we have to market, and I think we need to do that as much as we can
