the current version of gEDA in the ubuntu reps. is from 2004.
the newest version is from march 2005
the unstable version of debian works without modifications,
can you please upload it to the backports repositores?

Since the current version doesn't seem to work, this might be helpful.

Strike that, It's working for me. I haven't checked the ver yet.
