Do any of you kids watch "The Con" on comedy central? I love this show... Social Engineering at it's best (worst?)!!

I'd almost venture to say it's more ingenius than even the great Ferris Bueller, only because it's real.

Discuss.

Check out some of isreal (http://lineman.net/article/security/social+engineering)'s social engineering stories. He's freaking brilliant.

A good book to read on the subject is The Art of Deception, even if you hate Mitnick.

There's people that hate Mitnick?

Mitnick is a crook.

I've heard of it, but haven't seen it yet. The title of that show alone has me intrigued. I love a good prank too. Hell, my pesky neighbor is outside now stomping out the flames from the brown bag special I left on his doorstep. I'm gonna 'social engineer' him into keeping his damn cat from crapping on my front lawn yet.

Who's the comedian host of this show? He reminds me of Jay Morr (?), that guy who played the other agent in Jerry Maguire. I can't say I recognize or have seen this guy before. I'll check this show out. Maybe it'll give me a few more ideas for my neighbor.

Mitnick is a crook.

Nuh-uh.

[flame-retardant-suit]

He was a genius, misguided youth, who was unfairly treated by the Feds who were in the middle of a big show for the media.

I haven't seen it, but the guy you mean is Jay Mohr, he had a TV show called Mohr Sports on ESPN [not so funny..].

Jay Mohr is so much more than Jerry McGuire and a crappy ESPN show ;)

That said, I'm not a fan either

Thanks for the link. You watched that show too? Not some of his better material, I agree. I enjoyed him as part of some ESPN NFL show before he got that gig. He has much better material when in small doses as part of a cast. I think the host of this "con" show is a rock star or something though. I know I've seen his mug splashed across my TV somewhere before. Just can't figure it out.

I'm not saying his bad (his Mafia! flick was OK), but he just [IMO] looks like a --force downgraded version of the irreverent but great stand up comedian --white-version-of-Bernie.Mac Denis Leary (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001459/). He's better when there's backup [SNL].

You love the apt references dontcha!

I loved him in Suicide Kings-- and he was a good host for Last Comic Standing.

I got Mitnick's book, I thought I was great until I read "The Art of Steal" by Frank Abagnale. He is still the greatest. He make Mitnick look like a novice. :)

Yes but Leary was nothing more than a rehash of Bill Hicks (http://imdb.com/name/nm0382805/) ;)
