Hey all, I want to start being more proactive in Linux (and probably ubuntu/kubuntu) and would like to start off small, and step up there more and more. Right now, i'm pretty good at handling Linux in general, but would like to start possibly even devoloping a little bit (making scripts/gui's/helpful tools) and such, but I also want to become Linux Certified.

Is there any school at home programs for what I am talking about?

There are several linux certification programs.

The best, IMO, and community driven is Linux Professional Institute. Real people submit the questions, and is mostly volunteer driven. There are 2 current levels, and one in development. Each level is 2 tests, at $100 USD a piece.

See at www.lpi.org

There is also CompTIA's Linux+, which is not recommended.

Also, Novell and RedHat offer vendor specific stuff. Again, not recommended.
