Well tommorow is the big day (hopefully) and yep I'm bored and have nothing better to do so I'm hoping Edgy gets released a few hours early maybe to fullfill this void ;)

Doubtful, Dapper was released the day after it was scheduled to be for me. I wouldn't be surprised if that happened again. Don't get me wrong I'm excited I just would get my hopes up high for the release to be in a few hours. I can't wait, Edgy is kicking butt, I just wish my laptops hard drive didn't crash (again!).

I am still wondering whether I choose to install Ubuntu server + kde-core or Kubuntu

Do you install the server + those packages to take out all the bloat?

See here (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=277090).

I do like the idea of a speeded-up KDE

When is the _exact_ schedule release date for Edgy, October 26th 00:00 GMT?

Why not just upgrade early? It's not like there will be a thousand magic crash fixes the minute before final hits the servers. If you dist-upgrade now, what you'll get is basically final.

Cockin' down at tremendous speeds exceeding 500,0000 kilometers per hour.
I tell you, I'm excited about using Edgy on my laptop which is probably going to be delivered some time around November. I hear it has improved power management.

Depends what timezone they release Edgy in, you could still have to wait another 2-3 hours if they release it GMT!

I'm thinking of buying a cheap laptop, so I can use it completely for Ubuntu.

Try something on ebay, perhaps one which is one to two years old. Most likely it'd work great with ubuntu.

You should stay away from the Fujitsu Siemens Amilo series. Ubuntu didn't work for me on that computer.

I am just hoping that Edgy Eft will work on my laptop:KS

What? Sorry dude, when you posted that message, the time was 22:38 in Norway, meaning there were over 1 hour and 22 minutes 'till the beginning of Thursday. Anyway, it's not like it's gonna be released precisely at 00:00 sharp.

Hey look! Three Norwegians in a row!

Wow, that's not normal. I wonder how many Norwegians there are on this forum? Can't be many...
