Do we need a centralised website to contact vendors

Do we need a centralised website to contact vendors about Linux support and be able to send a standard email direct, informing them whether their hardware works in Linux or not. It would not just focus on Ubuntu but all distros?

Is doing this a good or a bad thing.

It's a great idea. Anything we can do to help venders support Linux is worth a try.
I've haven't given it a lot of thought but I can't see any real reason why it could be damaging.

A rather complicated issue but I tend to say yes. It would be great to watch the glorious unification of all Linux users forgetting all differences upon encouraging hardware vendors to release drivers for their hardware.
