Ars Technica has an article about how Oracle and Ubuntu (http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20061024-8059.html) may link up. Nothing definite, but you be a big boost to Unbuntu if they did.

Boy, Ellison is a tough enemy, isn't he?

I think why Ubuntu could be a partner is easy: Canonical can offer support services and corporations appreciate and require that.

I'm looking forward this partnership happens: I could get rid of red hat and use just ubuntu as distro.

It may or may not be a link-up... At least, if anything, it'll help further legitimize Canonical in the enterprise segment. I'm waiting for that Oracle dealie happening this weekend (I think) for further announcments. If anything (at least) Oracle will announce the plans for their (Oracle's) new stack which will include Ubuntu as the OS and work from their up...
