MythTV.

It's a real pain to install and configure, but I could never go back.

I'll agree with multiple people here already. I'd have to say Kontact too. No other PIM solution, commercial included, can match its combination of an incredible featureset, integration, and ease of use.

Edit: And Konqueror too. Life without Konqueror would be like going back to the stone age.

Epiphany is what I use the most.
Unreal tournament is up there, too :)

I got to thinking about it, and UT will work if we ever have to use that other os, but still, it was the only thing I could think of seeing as how I was in the middle of setting up eavyspawnprotect and aka and teambalance on our server while I was posting that, lol.

I'd miss amarok for sure. Killer program, but there's also streamtuner.

JACK/BEAST/Seq24/qSynth/Lyx/Lilypond. Not sure which one yet :P
I'd be severely impacted without Linux.

But I'd be more worried about/miss my data though if it blew up in flames than an application! ;)

Any web browser. Having a computer but no internet is almost like death. (I think) :-k

If I had to ditch linux the things I'd really miss are:

apt + good repos
mythtv
cron/at and decent scripting (bash and python) built in

There's other stuff I use all the time obviously but I could get by with windows replacements.

I really like amarok (I actually tried to get it in windows too)

Also the program(s) that allow the functionality of LiveCDs. I would have stopped experimenting looooong ago if it weren't for these beautiful LiveCD's I have laying around.

Killer app? For me it is Firefox, there are some other nice browsers around. Opera 9 and IE7 are very good IMHO. However, the sheer number of useful extensions available for Firefox make it unbeatable.

synaptic package manager. these days, i install/uninstall more often than i change my wallpaper. i'll go through the list of apps until i find one that sounds interesting. i'll install it, open it, realize i have no idea how it works, notice the man pages are 'tl/dr' and uninstall it. i guess firefox is the one i use the most, followed by thunderbird, gqview, xmms and gimp.

The terminal! Man I hate to search through menu's and such on windows..
And the ability to tweak and configure (almost) everything you don't like.

isn't Listen better? Listen seems to fare better than amarok is most ways (eg the number of supported formats, range of metadata supported, etc) according to this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_media_players) comparison.
