I am a C# programmer (at work), though on Microsoft's platform (across the board: desktop, web, and compact/portable). When I've been looking at Mono, I found that the mono docs to be very well put together, though they lack a lot of information in some classes.

Microsoft's msdn pages usually are quite useful as well as far as function definitions for the common namespaces.

As far as community, Have you tried looking for any c#/mono channels on freenode? I remember there was an IRC channel where Miguel de Icaza helped to answer a few of my ado.net questions regarding some wonky connection-pooling issues.
