View Full Version : Boostrapping the live cd?

Just a question....... I know its possible to boot the ubuntu installer from Dos, and do a "net install" of ubuntu where it basically fetches the files over the net.

What im wondering though is if its possible to boostrap the livecd ISO image.... so that you can restart your computer, and boot up from the image as if it was reading from a cd...

Is it possible to boot it if the image is in the windows partition? is it possible to repartition the drive even if a partition is mounted? If i remember using partitionmagic a few years ago........ you could repartition and resize the windows partition while it was mounted.
